CHMS Presents Beauty and The Beast
Bonjour! We are aiming to raise £1,500 for CHMS’s production of Beauty and The Beast at The Joseph Rowntree Theatre on the 26th to the 28th of February 2026.
In this classic tale of romance, Belle finds herself trapped in a magical castle, far away from her father and the provincial town she calls home. We follow the enchanted objects on their quest to be human again while they sing songs that will delight and impress young Belle. However, a darkness lies beneath the surface, a spell; that if left unbroken will doom the objects and the Beast to remain as they are forever. Will the Beast soften his heart for Belle?
Award winning on the West End and Broadway, Beauty and The Beast has music by Alan Menken, lyrics written by Tim Rice and Howard Ashman from the book by Linda Woolverton, this musical is filled with nostalgia, magic and romance.

Who are we?
CHMS is The University of York’s leading Musical Theatre society. We are entirely student run and perform at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre each year, last year presenting Grease and Into The Woods the year before!

Donating £10 or more will get you a message from our cast. £25 will grant you behind the scenes of cast content and if you’re feeling very generous with £50, we will incorporate your name into our set.
