Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’ve already raised £4,000, bringing us within touching distance of our original £4,500 target with 30 days still to go!

Because of this amazing momentum, we’re increasing our target to £6,000.

Why We’re Raising the Target

Reaching £4,500 means we can give every independent student a thoughtful stocking and a joyful Christmas Day meal.

But pushing beyond that will help us go even further:

Higher-quality gifts Additional funding means we can include extra-special, more personalised items that make each stocking feel even more meaningful.

Greater volume of gifts We’re seeing rising numbers of care experienced and estranged students at York. Extra support ensures no one misses out, even if more students come forward in the coming weeks.

More support on Christmas Day Extra funds could help us offer additional touches, festive treats, warm drinks or enhanced activities, making Christmas Day even more welcoming for those who might otherwise spend it alone.

A stronger message of belonging Every pound raised helps us show our students that the York community is behind them, cheering them on and lifting them up during what can be a difficult time of year.
