UYKCS's annual event where we showcase our talent and passion for Korean culture!

What is the spring day celebration?

We're raising funds for our biggest event of the year! The Spring Day Celebration is a showcase of multicultural talent, engaging activities and South Korean cuisine. It is more than just an evening of entertainment, it serves as a vibrant celebration of community, artistic expression and cultural exchange.

This year’s theme is inspired by K-pop Survival shows! These are reality programs that involve idol trainees competing against each other by showcasing their talents! Look forward to various types of exciting performances such as dancing, singing and more!

By supporting this yustart campaign, you are funding more than just a celebration - you are helping us to showcase a diverse selection of talented individuals, create a community for people with common cultural interests, and educate a diverse audience on Korean/global cultures!

about uykcs

UYKCS is the University of York's Korean Cultural Society! We aim to bring together diverse groups of people who are interested in South Korean culture - whether that includes cultural interests such as food or history, or popular content such as K-Pop or K-Dramas. 

At UYKCS, we have our own internal dance crew, whose talents have been showcased at various major events this year, such as the cultural collaboration of the SEA (South East Asian) Ball in November 2025, or the CSSA Lunar New Year Gala in March 2026!

Where will the money go?

  • Decor = £50
  • Performance (clothing/accessories for dancers) = £200
  • Food & Drink = £250

Ticket sales alone won’t be able to cover all costs for the level of quality we would love to bring to the event as these costs will contribute to the key elements of the event!

Any funding that exceeds £500 will go towards extra food items and our budget for tech.
