Help us bring the magic of the movies to the studio floor!

Your favourite films in a TV show!

A Night at the Movies is a nostalgic, high-energy game show that celebrates cinema through fun trivia, challenges and movie magic- and we need your help to make it happen. We aim to rekindle the joy and excitement of a trip to the movies with trivia, puzzles and challenges.

Step Into the Spotlight!

This exciting game show takes contestants and viewers on a cinematic journey, paying tribute to some of the greatest films ever made. The competition will unfold across three distinct, challenging rounds: trivia, puzzles and challenges, culminating in a thrilling finale where contestants step through the cinema screen and into the world of epic blockbuster movies.  Blending the charm of classic 1970s and 80s game shows with the energy of modern favourites like The Hit List, Pointless and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, the show delivers a fun, fast-paced and nostalgic experience for the whole family.

The Crew…

We are a team of seven third-year Film and Television Production students, united by our love of cinema and passion for television entertainment.

Hi, I’m Ella, the producer! I turn ideas into fully produced shows with strong casting, smart planning, and creative flair. I handle everything from logistics and finances to catering to ensure the best final result. I can’t wait to bring my cinema-themed game show to life!

I'm Kira, the director! I shape the show’s creative vision and aesthetic, lead the recording process, and collaborate closely with all creative departments to keep everything on track. With my love of film classics, I’m excited to bring A Night at the Movies to your screens!

I’m Freya, the production manager. I keep the project on schedule from planning to final studio execution. During the show, I calculate and update timings from the gallery and relay them to the crew to maintain a smooth, consistent pace and keep everyone aligned!

I’m our production designer, Mia. My job is to bring the creative vision to life through sets, props and costumes. Using practical sets, I want our show to emulate retro game shows from the late 20th century, taking inspiration from old movies and cinemas. I can’t wait to get designing and start making!

I’m Tom, the show’s lead camera and lighting designer. I’m responsible for the camera coverage of the show, making sure all of the fun is captured fully and providing Rowan with a variety of shots to select. I’m also in charge of the lighting setup, ensuring our wonderful studio’s lighting is well utilised, helping our show to stand out.

I’m Rowan, our show’s vision mixer. It’s my job to do the ‘live editing’ by cutting between the studio cameras and making sure we transmit the most engaging coverage possible! I’ll also be the editor for any pre-recorded elements and putting together the final show package.

Hi, I’m Aaron, your sound designer. My job is to shape the audio world of the show- adding music, sound beds, and effects that bring every moment to life. I’m taking cues from legendary movie soundtracks to create a rich, cinematic soundscape that keeps the audience fully engaged from start to finish.

Together, we’re creating a unique and captivating game show that celebrates the joy of cinema and rekindles a sense of nostalgia for audiences everywhere.
