Our Project 

We are aiming to raise between £500-£1000 for our upcoming production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ at Theatre 41 @ Monkgate. ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ is a deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, which has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Our wonderful production team and cast are currently hard at work to put on a unmissable performance and we would really appreciate any donation to aid in achieving our goal and vision for the show. 

Who are we?

CHMS (Central Hall Musical Society) is the leading musical society at the University of York. Our society provides students with the opportunity to perform in various styles of shows, from full scale musicals to variety showcases. ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ is the society’s chosen Spring Musical, and consists of a fabulous 8 person cast and supporting production team. Our executive team consisting of Georgia Jasper as Producer, Ella Coldron as Director and Elliot Akosa as Musical Director are incredibly proud of the team and urge everyone to come and watch the show! 

Where will the money go? 

The majority of the money raised through this fundraising project will go towards the show’s creative aspects, including the set, costumes and props. We want to transport the audience to New York in the early 2000’s which is only possible with the aid of financial resources, which will help us to achieve the creative vision of our designers and director. The rest of the money raised will support other aspects of the show, including transportation and the show’s marketing team by funding flyers, posters, electronic billboards as well as potential radio and newspaper interviews, which will spread the word of this musical beyond the University to the wider York community.
