Support the creation and production of our student-led summer show with any donation!

chms presents bonnie & clyde:

We are hoping to raise £1750 towards our production of Bonnie & Clyde. This is an entirely student-led project by members of Central Hall Musical Society, the leading musical theatre society at the University of York. On the 14-16th May 2026, we will be holding 4 performances in the outdoor Rowntree Park Amphitheatre. Putting on a show outside is more expensive than you might think, which is why your donations are fundamental in us creating a spectacle for our paying audiences.

Who are we?

Myself (Luca, Producer), Chloe (Director), Idan (Musical Director) and Shanti (Choreographer) have been working towards this project since we first pitched it back in December - we are all incredibly passionate about the success of this exciting show, and about fulfilling our visions. We have all been involved in various CHMS projects now, from showcases to previous full-scale shows - however, I speak for all of us when I say this is the most exciting project we have worked on, and we are incredibly excited to be working with such a talented cast, production team, band and tech team!

Where does the money go?

  • Your donations largely cover the high tech costs needed to put on a musical outdoors - including microphones, lighting and sound!
  • Our creative designers have some incredible visions to bring our show to life - your support allows them to fulfil their visions, whether that's dressing our cast up in some magnificent costumes, or giving a truly immersive feel through set - we want to give our talented cast the resources and stage they deserve!!
  • Being outside, and thanks to the unpredictable British weather, your donations will go towards our rain contingency i.e. audience and stage cover, waterproof tech etc.
  • Any exceeding donations go towards the profit we hope to make from our show! This profit will go towards keeping our society running, and allows us to put on more incredible shows in the future which allows our members to continue to perform.
  • We plan to update our progress on a weekly basis, and may increase updates as the show quickly approaches!

Rewards!

  • Donations of £10 or more will receive a message from our cast!
  • Donations of £15 or more will be mentioned on our social media.
  • Donations of £20 or more will have one of our audience seating straw bales named after them!
  • Donations of £25 or more will have their name included (i.e. engraved) in our set/props!
