Mike was a much-loved colleague, giving invaluable advice, guidance and support to so many researchers and students over the years. He leaves a big hole in our lives.

We would like to raise funds for two things:

- to add a memorial plaque to the Rowan tree which has been planted at the University of York, outside the Stockholm Environment Institute building.

- to provide a bursary for students to attend CAPER conferences - the Committee for Air Pollution Effects Research - Mike was an important part of this group of researchers and policy-makers, and always tried to encourage students to attend.
