Stake & Ale needs your help! We are bringing our Jacobean sitcom to life and we need to raise £2500 to make the magic happen. This includes building our own 17th century tavern and creating authentic costumes to capture the hysteria of the Jacobean witch trials. Stake & Ale is made up of seven Film & Tv Production students at the University Of York. We are crazy about sitcoms, spookiness and 17th century witch-hunting madness! For our final year at University, we are working towards creating a television show, which aims to encapsulate all of the above…
WITHER will the COIN go?
Set & Props - 1200
We are hoping to bring the Jacobean world of Stake & Ale to life through a self-built tavern set, filled with barrels, pewter tankards and authentic period detail. It goes without saying that making this specific vision a reality will require the majority of our fundings and is fundamental to the overall witchy tone of the show.
Costume & Makeup - 500
Just like the set and props, the costume and makeup is a vital element as we transform our actors into 17th-century characters. This budget will ensure that we can maintain historic accuracy and depth into our villagers, witches and witchunters!
Catering - 300
With tiresome days to be spent in the studio, we believe it is crucial to keep our crew and cast refreshed throughout the process. This portion will be spent on plenty of meals to energise all those involved in Stake & Ale.
Transport & Accomodation - 500
Whether travelling by broomstick or spending a night in The Inn…this will go towards covering all travel or hotel expenses for the Stake & Ale cast and crew. We want all those involved in this production to be supported to the best of our abilities during production.
VT/ Location Filming - 200
Although Stake & Ale is largely shot in studio, there are elements which could require external filming and we need to be prepared for that! This proportion will contribute to locations, expenses and equipment relating to outside of studio filming.
Contingencies - 300
Sometimes things don’t go to plan and this will cover us for the potential of things changing and unforeseen circumstances!
