What Will Your Donation Achieve? ✨
I’m seeking to raise £160 to cover travel expenses for attending SynbiTECH 2025. The cost of which is based on my own calculations for over three days of travel (it is a two day conference).
This opportunity would allow me to engage with a broad network of synthetic biologists, hear from leading voices and explore emerging innovations shaping the field. In appreciation of any support, I will share a curated set of notes with you.
You will receive an electronic or mailed physical copy of my summary, including:
- key conference highlights,
- summaries of panel discussions,
- insights into upcoming ventures and technologies,
- a brief review of the current,
- the future landscape of the industry.

But, Who am I?
My name is Eloise, and I’m currently studying Biotechnology at the University of York. Over the past three years, I’ve devoted my degree to exploring the diverse career pathways within and around biotechnology.
One way I continue to learn about the evolving landscape of biotech is by engaging with opportunities like SynbiTECH. Last year, during my industry placement, I was fortunate enough to self-fund my travel to SynbiTECH 2024. Attending the conference gave me invaluable insight into emerging technologies, enterprise initiatives, and the broader direction of the industry.
Having experienced it once before, I now have a strong sense of the topics and themes that will be covered in 2025. I plan to take detailed notes and share them with supporters.
Any contribution would be deeply appreciated and directly support my continued learning and engagement with the biotech community.
Of course, I can only attend and produce the notes if my minimum target is hit. Any surplus donations will likely be dedicated towards other similar academic opportunities for myself, however I would love to offer any substantial surplus to fund another student from the biology department to join me at SynbiTECH this year.
If my fundraising is successful, please may non-anonymous donors leave their email address and I will co-ordinate the reception of my conference notes before the 18th of December 2025.
