Henry, Nicole, Mog, Clem, Wilbur and Mary take on a marathon to support Mentally Fit York!

We're walking the Great York Walk

This Mental Health Awareness week, we're walking 25 miles (or 150 miles between 6 of us on Saturday, 17 May) to support the Mentally Fit York Fund

The walk itself is a great opportunity to be part of a collective and positive community that is literally taking strides to support the mental health and wellbeing of our staff, students, alumni, friends and the wider world.

It might not feel like it during the grueling walk but if we can do it (our group of six)  and you are willing to sponsor us, every penny will go towards supporting mental health research, mental health nursing scholarships and on the ground mentally fit interventions at the University of York.

We are…

Nicole and her son Henry, Mary and Mog and their sons Wilbur and Clement.

We have all been friends for a long time. We’ve gone through a lot. Grief and the loss of those closest to us.  Ageing and the challenges of life transitions. We’re lucky to have one another and to be there for each other.

We’re lucky to live in a beautiful city of York with access to open spaces (including our wonderful campus) and to resources to support us when we need them. We don’t take this for granted - and whilst we take mental fitness seriously, we are all too well aware that at any moment our wellbeing and mental health can change. For some, mental ill-health is a constant in their lives.

By doing this simple thing, we can all help raise awareness of and money for the Mentally Fit York Fund.

Where will the money go?

By sponsoring us your money will go directly to mental health research, mental health nursing scholarships and on the ground mental health interventions.

Help us succeed!

Please give if you can.
