The Challenge
I'm participating in The Great York Walk - a 10km walking event on May 17th to raise funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. I'll be walking alongside a wonderful community of people, including my mum who is a former student of the University of York.
Why This Matters
In the UK, up to one in four adults and one in ten children experience mental health problems each year. These statistics need to change, and your support can help make that difference.
About Mentally Fit York
Your donation will fund vital initiatives and ground-breaking research, including:
- 24/7 mental health support for York students
- Mental Health Nursing Scholarships
- Research projects to improve understanding of mental health issues
- Initiatives to address barriers to accessing support services
All funds are allocated by an expert panel of mental health researchers, practitioners, and advocates to ensure maximum impact.
Why WE'RE Passionate About This
We believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health support when they need it most. The Institute of Mental Health Research at the University of York is at the forefront of innovations in this field.
Mentally Fit York supports numerous important initiatives, including projects focused on men's mental health and resources for neurodivergent people - causes that are particularly close to our hearts.
