I'm Grace, a 3rd Year Cognitive Neuroscience undergrad here in York and I need YOUUU to help me do my part for the community! (I'm like 5ft 2 my legs are so short and I love sitting down, this is a real challenge right here)
I NEED YOUR HELP!
I'm taking on The Great York Walk, a 12.5 mile (20km) marathon walking event that will help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York.
In the UK, up to one in four adults and one in ten children will experience a mental health problem each year, and there is a serious lack of funding towards it all. These statistics need to change.
So together with a great community of people, and my lovely lovely boyfriend- I'm going to walk 12.5 miles on the 17th May around York! Yes its not QUITE a marathon, but I do only have little legs.
Please donate ANYTHING you can to help my target and improve mental health in York and beyond! 🙂 (P.S. Follow the link if you want to find out more about the walk and the cause, its pretty cool, I promise).
about mentally fit York
My walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund on the ground initiatives and the latest groundbreaking research.
This could include 24/7 mental health support for York students, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships (this one is my favourite), and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services. Your support will contribute to a range of initiatives and research projects which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
