High Note
HIGH NOTE is an original musical short that follows Geena, the daughter of two famous musicians, on her first day at Ephron Academy - a music school for the best of the best. There’s just one problem, she can’t sing a note. Join us as we embark on a musical tale that fuses Old Hollywood with Disney Channel. Featuring 3 original songs, High Note is a personal journey of self discovery, and ultimately about finding the strength to go against the current and unlock your true purpose.

Meet The Crew
We are a group of 3rd year students studying Film and Television Production at the University of York. High Note is a short film we are creating as part of a final year project.
Where will Your money go?
Making a musical can be costly and we aim to raise £2500 in order to make High Note a reality. To know where your money will go, please read the following:
Travel - £300
The travel is important as we hope to be able to bring in professional actors who may need to travel from afar. The travel costs will also cover the crews transport to and from set as well as all of the equipment.
Set Design - £700
A lot of the film relies on quality production design and therefore we will need a lot of the budget to help us bring Geenas world to life
Location Costs - £500
Our desired locations are for example a 1950s modern style house as well as a large American style high school. Your donations will support us in getting the locations we need.
Specialist Equipment - £400
A musical can be very technically challenging, with multiple extras and backup dancers in specific scenes, so we'd like to hire external equipment to bring the best experience to the viewer.
Catering - £300
A portion of our budget will go into buying food and drinks for the cast and crew. It is especially important that the crew stays energised through hard and long shooting days.
Contingency - £300
Of course we do not wish for anyting to go wrong but the contingency is there to make sure we are able to cover any possible issue.
Our minimum budget
Our aim is to reach our target £2500. As a backup we have a minimum budget of £2000 which would mean cutting down the budget for location costs to £400, production design to £500, specialist equipment to £300 and catering to £200.
