A short summary of Our project
We’re are seeking to raise £1500 today for the Institute for a Greater Europe, a grassroots youth think tank which will enable young people to unite and discuss pressing issues across Europe and beyond. Chief among these our international meeting in Vienna in Summer 2019!
Who are we?
The Institute for a Greater Europe started life as the Greater Europe Think Tank working for the Youth Association for a Greater Europe, and was revitalized in early 2018 by the current Chair Philippe Lefevre and Amand van Rossum. It is an international grassroots think tank centered on policy and research from the very fringes of Europe. The Institute has an editing team, and chapters across the globe from Lucknow to York. Members of the institute create policy journals, run speakers events, hold conferences and much more!
Our Story
The Institute for a Greater Europe provides a unique opportunity for youth interested in European affairs to benefit from each others’ insights and experiences, and build networks of like-minded individuals. Members can further their understanding of political, social and historical issues, enhance their writing skills by contributing to the editorial team, and meet new people during conferences, events and exchange schemes.
Unlike lots of think tanks, The Institute welcomes youth with any political leanings to participate. The Institute for a Greater Europe has a particularly important role today as European politics has become increasingly isolationist, and sceptical of cross-border co-operation. Being a donor will enable you to contribute to this unique project which enables Europe’s future leaders to unite and seek a Greater Europe. Your money will help ensure European youth can work together for a stable, prosperous future.
Where will your money go?
If we hit our minimum target, your money will go on administrative costs essential for The Institute to run smoothly, such as email and website domains. The Institute also requires funding to carry out its core activities such as publishing bi-yearly policy journals
Breakdown of Yearly Costs
- Hosting Costs for Website and Mailboxes: £ 415
- Publishing Costs for Journal: £ 140
- Online and Physical Marketing: £ 100
Costs for International Meeting (3 days)
- Hiring Venue Room in Vienna: £1000
- Lunch and Snacks: £200
- Accommodation (If we exceed fundraising!): £600
Reaching our full target would enable members The Institute for a Greater Europe to engage in exchange programmes and have valuable contact with other members from across the globe. It would also fund attendance at conferences, such as the July meeting in Vienna, to ensure that all members can fully benefit from The Institute’s activities regardless of their income or background.
If we exceed our target, this would mean that even more members would be able to have face-to-face networks across Europe and enable us to have even more prestigious speakers at our events.
You will be kept fully updated with how your money is being spent! the Director of Communications oversees The Institute’s Facebook page being updated on an almost daily basis, and individual chapters have their own social media you can follow
