A summary of our project

A private chef dishes up dinner for two new clientele, and discovers that nothing… nothing, is as it seems.

‘Diced’ is a dramatic telling of the harrowing relationship between Samantha and Jonathan as seen through a stranger’s eyes. This stranger being our protagonist Chef, who unknowingly steps into the broken home of the couple entangling himself in their lives. After Samantha implores Chef for his help to escape, a plan is put in motion. 

However as the night goes on, Chef can do nothing but watch as all is revealed to be not as it seems…

Who are we?

We are a group of final year students eager to make our mark in the world of film! We’re so excited to delve into our chosen specialisms and create our final project of our degree. We are a tight-knit and highly passionate crew who want to share the story of ‘Diced’ with you our audience, and we are most grateful for any help you can give to make this possible.

"Hello, I’m Jasper, and I’m directing ‘Diced’. For the final film of our studies I’m lucky enough to work with a crazily talented and passionate team of individuals. And we can’t wait to get started. ‘Diced’ was initially inspired by the Chef trend over the last few years. 'The Bear’ or ‘The Menu’ for example. But I wanted to create something fresh, exciting and above all something tense. And what better way to add tension than to place our protagonist in a fraught situation between two broken lovers, in a role where customer satisfaction an utmost priority…" - Jasper Knight, Director.

Where will the money go?

Below you can find a breakdown of how our budget will be spent:

LOCATION - £800

'Diced's Characters live a lavish lifestyle and we need to find a home that reflects this. We intend to shoot solely in this location, and as a result this location needs to facilitate our cast and crew in a safe environment. Your donations will be able to simultaneously ensure us a perfect location and bring our vision to life.  

Design - £550

Jonathan and Samantha's home needs to reflect their broken relationship, production design is so important to portray their character dynamics. Alongside the dishes Chef will be cooking up for the couple. Your donations will be used to help create the aesthetic of the film!

CATERING - £400

As our shoot will take place over multiple days we need to be able to provide food and drink to our cast and crew. Keeping everyone happy and well fed is essential throughout production.

TRANSPORT - £400

We will be transporting large quantities of equipment and will need a safe mode of transport, and so a hired van will be essential alongside the safe transportation of key cast and crew.

CONTINGENCY - £350

Anything can happen on set as things can be unpredictable, we want to make sure we are as prepared as possible. And so we are allowing space in our budget to overcome any worst case scenarios that may arise.
