A short summary of OUR project
We are fundraising to take our production of Anya Reiss' The Acid Test on a UK based tour, including theatre festivals. We need to raise around £3000 to cover the costs of production rights, travel, accommodation and production costs - so please donate today!
If we raise £500, YuFund will match that donation and we will be even closer to achieving our goal!
Who are we?
We are Divine Riot Theatre - a group of five female creatives who are soon to be graduating from the University of York.

our story
As young people, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us greatly. Theatre came to a standstill for nearly two years of our University degree, and we have done everything to get back into the theatre industry. Although we have continued to learn through our degree, we have missed out on valuable hands-on experience that would have further shaped our learning. This opportunity will provide us with the skills and experience that we simply cannot obtain from University. Additionally, we would love to show future students, theatre-makers and young people that young artists can succeed!
We are a group of girls from different areas of the UK and are passionate about making young female voices heard in the creative industry. We created this company to start a platform for female creatives to have an opportunity to showcase their own ideas and work.
It is a fantastic opportunity for us to kick-start our careers and enter into the world of theatre. We have spent the past three years working towards this point, and would absolutely love to take everything we’ve learnt and apply it to a touring amateur production. We are eager to continue learning the different aspects of how touring a show works and believe this is the perfect opportunity to learn on the job.
We finish our degree with a module called the Independent Group Project (performing June 2022). This module is designed to act as a launch-pad to take our performance touring. It would be such an exciting and valuable venture if we are able to graduate with our performance of The Acid Test and take it straight on tour!
