The weather was pretty rubbish over the weekend, but we reached our step target and collectively made it to Canada in the Great York Virtual Walk Around The World for #mentallyfityork

All 150 teams have now completed 6k miles of Great York Virtual Walk Around The World for #mentallyfityork and we are collectively heading for Ecuador!

Yesterday saw the start of the Great York Walk and Mental Health Awareness Week. The aim is to walk the virtual route from Argentina to University of York (25,000 miles) along with 150 other teams. Today the teams collectively reached Comodoro Rivadavia just over 2,000,000 steps! Our little team contributed in between revision and work. More pics posted today from another of our team who did 13,000 steps in Pendle... here is the post "Because our eldest grandson is a student at the University of York and because of my own ancestral connections to the City of York, as mentioned somewhere below I find I’ve been coopted into a family team... One of many such teams and individuals, taking part in a huge virtual walk aiming to raise money for #mentallyfityork. Sometimes I’ll be walking with family and hopefully at least once I’ll walk in York but most of the time I shall be tramping around Pendleside on my own or with any of my lovely local friends who may fancy a walk in our gorgeous countryside. All my steps will be counted and logged towards a projected target of 25,000 miles - that’s from the tip of Argentina to the campus of the University of York!! 

And all before July 31st. I start today."

On the uni run today, we visited University of York campus. We missed Spring here last year. I’ll be walking in York with Jack Fawcett and Carl to support #mentallyfityork from 10th May along with many other friends of York University of York Global Alumni Association ❤️ 🙏🏽
