Jo Horsburgh, the University Registrar and Secretary, will leave the University on 18th September.
She joined the University of York in 2017 and in her time here has contributed enormously to the development of the University.
Her energy, drive and vision have been instrumental in creating a more integrated and strategic approach to the provision of professional services at York to support our academic work and in creating and developing a very strong group of Heads of Professional Services (HOPS).
As University Secretary, she has played a particularly important role in strengthening and reshaping our governance, assurance and compliance arrangements in order to ensure that we are best placed to meet the regulatory oversight instigated by the creation of the Office for Students.
She has also been integral to our response to the Covid-19 crisis, including the rapid implementation of lockdown, the development of contingency planning as we look ahead to the next academic year, and the alignment of that contingency work with the development of the new University Strategy, and emerging plans for organisational change.
On a personal level those who have worked directly with Jo will have benefitted from her insight, support and guidance. She will be very much missed.
This page has been set up to thank Jo for her contributions and support over the years and wish her the very best for the future.
Jo has advised that she would welcome donations to our Emergency Student Support Fund in lieu of a gift. If you would like to make a donation, please click the Sponsor button below.
