finished!

A big 'thank you' to my supporters for helping me to raise £210 for the Mentally Fit York campaign.

I walked 531 miles in the 12 week challenge so exceeded my initial target.

Thanks again!

Final week

As we head into the final week, I'm approaching my 500 miles target. All being well, I should exceed this early next week and end the challenge having covered over 525 miles.

There is still time to support the Great York Walk and help to fund projects and research to improve mental health in York.

Thank you for all your support.

Target reached, but lets keep going!

I've reached my fundraising target of £150. Thank you so much to all my supporters!

But as there are 50 days left, and I'm still walking, let's keep going. Let's go for £200 instead. It's a great cause, so please do sponsor me if you can.

Thank you!

Week 5

Four weeks of the challenge have now been completed and I have clocked up 181 miles. If I keep up this pace I should reach 500 miles 3 days before the end of the challenge. So, my new challenge is to reach 500 miles a week before the end of the challenge or to stretch towards 550 miles within the 12-week period. That may not be obtainable, but I will give it a go.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. I'm approaching my modest total of £150 sponsorship, so will aim to exceed that as well.

Thank you for your support.

Week 1

One week completed and I'm on target to reach my 500 miles target. I need to walk 6 miles a day on average throughout the 12-week challenge, and in the last week I have notched up 45 miles, so I have 3 miles in the bank. I'm making sure I walk every day and I did a bit of a longer walk at the weekend. Getting out in the fresh air each day is so important and I must admit to feeling better as a result. I'm looking forward with optimism to the rest of the challenge, knowing that I can hit the 500 miles target if I can keep going as I have started.

Please do support this excellent cause if you can.

Thank you!
