PLEASE DONATE!
I'm running 10 miles (which is a LOT) on the 16th October to help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York.
I currently have a love/hate relationship with running. I have suffered with mental health issues for years and most of the time going for a run helps me feel better (after I've caught my breath obviously). I am not the fittest person so I decided to do this 10 mile run to give me a goal to work towards and that little bit extra motivation to go for a run when I'm feeling extra sh*t. I also love to help people that's why all donations are going towards the Mentally Fit York charity.
about mentally fit york
My run will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.
Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
