Mental health is a key measure of our living condition. When a person suffers  poor physical health, we tend to worry. Even equally worrisome, is when someone has poor mental health.

Rather than discriminate or stigmatize, I want to help as many people care about their mental health. First, they need to know it's important, and where on the spectrum their mental health currently lies. Then they need to take action to care for and improve their mental health as a way of life. This leads to healthier lives, happier societies, and better living conditions for all.

I NEED YOUR HELP!

I'm taking part in York's Marathon Month 2024 to help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. Mental ill-health doesn't discriminate and whether we're experts in mental health or not, we should all be able to feel safe and supported in talking to each other about our mental health.

So together with a great community of people I'm going to complete a virtual marathon in the month of October! I intend to complete the virtual route for as many times the target sum of £150 is met. I am counting on your support as run to raise mental health awareness.

Please donate anything you can to help my target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :) (P.S. If you want to find out more about York's Marathon Month and the cause you can do so here).

about mentally fit york

My marathon will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund on the ground initiatives and the latest groundbreaking research.

This could include 24/7 mental health support for York students, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services. Your support will contribute to a range of initiatives and research projects which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
