Please sponsor me to complete a marathon over October to transform mental health in York and beyond.

A short summary of your project

I am running a marathon over thr month of October to help transform the state of mental health by raising funds to Mentally Fit York. Mental health has been a longstanding issue in society, especially among students; and remains overlooked among the general public. As a result, I have decided to undertake the challenge of running a Virtual marathon over October. I hope this would increase our awareness of mental health in York and beyond.

Please help support my cause by donating.

Who are you?

I'm a current PhD student in Mathematical Biology at York Uni. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, travelling and running. I took up running at the age of 15, and started taking it seriously by training at a local running club. Since then I had episodes where I started and quit running, partly due to my busy life schedule that affected my work life balance. I always had dreams to complete a marathon to raise money for a cause close to my heart, and given this opportunity, I'd like to make full use of it.

Mental health is a very important part of me, and has affected many aspects of me throughout my life.

About Mentally fit york

My run will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.

Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
