WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are taking on The Great York Walk, sort of!! We, and any other crazy people who would like to join us, are planning to walk for 24 hours continuously around our campus on a designated route to raise funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. Please donate anything you can to help us hit our fundraising target and improve mental health in York and beyond
- Our route around campus can be found here.
We will be starting our walk on campus at 11:00 on the 29th May 2021 and finishing at 11:00 on the 30th May 2021
As a little extra bit of fun, why not have a go at guessing what our combined total mileage and step count will be by adding a comment to this page after making your donation. The closest guesses will receive a small prize. You don't have to make a guess though, you can just donate if you like, but where's the fun in that?
If government guidelines allow it, it would be great to have friends, family and colleagues join us on the route throughout the day (socially distanced of course). If you would like to walk with us please fill in this form to let us know you're interested (if you do come along, please bring food!!)
In all seriousness this cause is personal to us as Richard's son, who studied at York has, and still is, going through mental health issues. So please donate anything you can to help us reach our fundraising target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :)
About Mentally Fit York
The walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.
Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates. Find out more about what Mentally Fit York has supported here.
