OUR PROJECT
"The Waiting Room" is a multi-camera sitcom set in a quirky, small-town medical clinic. The show centres around an ensemble cast, featuring two contrasting doctors, a nurse, a receptionist, and a cleaner, whose unique personalities and relationships bring humour and heart to the clinic’s daily routines. Each episode introduces a new set of patients, providing fresh scenarios that challenge the staff to navigate both their professional roles and personal quirks in the face of everyday chaos.
For this project, our team will be producing the pilot episode, which will be filmed in the Department of Theatre, Film, Television, and Interactive Media's (TFTI) TV studio. This pilot will showcase the series' distinctive humour and character-driven storytelling, laying the foundation for what we envision as an engaging and relatable sitcom. Please donate to help us bring our vision to life and you will be seeing the final product!

Where will the money go?
To bring “The Waiting Room” to life, we need your support to cover essential production costs. Every contribution helps us create a professional, polished sitcom pilot that showcases the best of our team’s creative talent. Here’s how the funds will be used:
Set Design & Props (£1200): Creating an authentic clinic environment is key to setting the tone for our show. Funds will cover materials, props, and decorations needed to transform our set into a convincing, visually engaging space that enhances our story.
Costumes & Wardrobe (£300): Costuming each character to match their role and personality will add depth and realism to our production. These funds will allow us to purchase, rent, or make minor adjustments to clothing to bring our characters to life.
Transport (£400): We’ll provide transport support for our cast and crew, ensuring everyone can arrive on set safely and on time. This will include any necessary location transports for specific scenes, as well as parking fees.
Food & Refreshments (£300): Long production days require energy! We’ll keep our cast and crew well-fed with meals and snacks to ensure everyone stays motivated, energized, and focused.
Miscellaneous and Contingency (£250): This budget is allocated for unforeseen expenses or emergencies that may arise during production.
Any contributions will directly elevate our production quality, allowing us to invest in higher-quality materials, props, and wardrobe, as well as enhanced lighting and equipment. With more support, we can bring even more authenticity and polish to the set, costumes, and overall visual appeal, making this pilot a professional showcase of our team’s talent and dedication.
