Help us transform the state of mental health in York and beyond

Sponsor us to take on the great York walk...

We are a team of staff members from the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) at the University of York, taking part in the Great York Walk 2024. We're taking part because walking is a great exercise for wellbeing and also because in our department we are fortunate enough to see the impact that Mentally Fit York funds have on our local community.

We NEED YOUR HELP!

As we are a group, we'll be taking on various lengths of The Great York Walk route - a 25 mile marathon walking event. Any donations received will go to Mentally Fit York at the University of York, helping to fund mental health initiatives at the University and beyond.

In the UK, up to one in four adults and one in ten children will experience a mental health problem each year. These statistics need to change.

So, together we're going to walk around York on the 18th May!

Please donate anything you can to help our target and improve mental health in York and beyond! 🙂 (P.S. Follow the link if you want to find out more about the walk and the cause).

about mentally fit York

Our walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund on the ground initiatives and the latest groundbreaking research.

This could include 24/7 mental health support for York students, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services. Your support will contribute to a range of initiatives and research projects which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
