A Summary of Our Project!
We hope to raise £2,500 to fund our Studio TV dating show, Sparks Fly! Your donations will help us create some spectacular studio sets such as our main game show staging and a date set up, pay someone to compose music for our theme song and more!
This positive and intentional dating show will see 12 contestants "opt-in" to dating a suitor after information about their core beliefs, lifestyle and physical appearance is revealed.
Who are We?
We are a team of seven 3rd-year Film and Television Production students at the University of York who are making a studio TV Show for their final year group project.
Our story
We are creating Sparks Fly as we believe current societal dating habits revolve around physical attraction. From the swipe culture of online dating and being overwhelmed with reality dating shows, modern dating tends to be rapid and superficial.
Therefore we are creating Sparks Fly to be a different type of dating show! Our show innovates through the format prioritising the suitors' core beliefs and personality traits and contestant matching that aims for long-term, deeper connections.
Where will the money go?
All your donations will go towards customising and elevating our production, as we need purpose-built staging, unique lighting rigs, the perfect host, and so much more.
if we manage to raise the full £2,500 we have budgeted:
- Set Design: £1000
- Lighting: £600
- Props: £400
- Catering: £250
- Composer: £100
- Contingencies: £150
