Support the surface
The Surface is an original student written musical theatre production that the University of York's musical society, CHMS, will be taking to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival of 2018.
The cast, production team and every member involved in the creation of the show are students who are passionate about theatre and who are particularly enthusiastic about bringing this show to life and working together to fulfil it's true potential.
Being students we rely a lot on the participation of like-minded members of the community to help fund the show and we hope that there are people out there who are passionate about aiding us in realizing the show and helping us to achieve the standard and level we know its capable of reaching.
As well as setting up this fundraising page we will be holding fundraising events in York and we are proud to say that we aim to keep the budget to a minimum by using recycled and second-hand which stays true to the shows' themes and it's core message.
Where will the money go?
Any money donated would go into the creation of production; from things such as materials for costume and set, transportation and accommodation for our cast members to the printing of flyers, posters and programmes amongst other things.
We will be spending the money on making the set, costumes, and props first and foremost to ensure we have a fantastic and memorable look to the show. Following this we will be helping our team secure accommodation and travel to and from Edinburgh for the duration of our run at the festival. Should we exceed our full target we will be giving the money to CHMS for future performances to use.
