WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🌳

We're lacing up our boots to take on The Great York Walk, a 25 mile (40km) marathon walking event that will help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York.

Last January, we started our roles as Graduate Coordinators in the Access and Outreach team here at the University of York. Wellbeing and mental health awareness are central to the offer we provide to all young people we work with across our programmes. We hope that by taking part in this challenge, we're fostering a culture of communication and support, not only within the work we do but on a wider scale.

In the UK, up to one in four adults and one in ten children will experience a mental health problem each year. These statistics need to change.

So together with a great community of people - some with a connection to York, some with no connection - We're going to walk 25 miles on the 17th May around York!

Please donate anything you can to help our target and improve mental health in York and beyond! 🙂 (P.S. Follow the link if you want to find out more about the walk and the cause).

about mentally fit York

Our walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund on the ground initiatives and the latest groundbreaking research.

This could include 24/7 mental health support for York students, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services. Your support will contribute to a range of initiatives and research projects which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
