I NEED YOUR HELP!

I'm taking on The Great York Walk, a 12.5 mile (20km) half marathon walking event that will help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York.

In the UK, up to one in four adults and one in ten children will experience a mental health problem each year. Nearly everyone has personal experience facing mental health problems - myself included. It's such an important issue that needs attention - and funding.

So together with a great community of people - some with a connection to York, some with no connection - I'm going to walk 12.5 miles on the 18th May around York! It's my final year here as a student and it would be wonderful to make an impact.

Please donate anything you can to help my target and improve mental health in York :)

about mentally fit York

My walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund on the ground initiatives and the latest groundbreaking research.

This could include 24/7 mental health support for York students, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services. Your support will contribute to a range of initiatives and research projects which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates. The route I will be walking it below!
