Who we are
We are a team of staff and student leaders within Langwith College who are taking part in the Short York Walk 2020. We want to make a positive difference by raising money for Mentally Fit York whilst also keeping up the community spirit within our college.
Our Aim
Between the 12 of us, we hope to walk at least 300 miles in the month of June, and will be recording our journeys on Langwith's social media platforms, as well as making a video to share with you all. We will be linking our walk in some way to the letter 'L'. One member is walking to places beginning with 'L', while another will be doing litter picking along the way.
How will your donations help?
The Mentally Fit York Fund promotes good mental health both at the University and across the city of York. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York student and research projects looking to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.
Your support may also go towards providing Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, helping to ensure that the NHS is equipped to deal with the increased demand for mental healthcare as we start to become more comfortable in including discussions of mental health when we talk about our health and wellbeing in our communities.
Help us succeed!
If you are able to donate, any donation will be gratefully received, and we thank you in advance for your generosity.
If you are unable to donate however, you can still help us to succeed by sharing this page with friends and family, and by keeping up to date through our social media channels.
Final Words from the team
We are really looking forward to taking on this challenge, and look forward to updating you on our progress! Thank you all for your support!
Langwith Love,
