Sponsor me to walk a marathon to help transform the state of mental health in York and beyond

I NEED YOUR HELP!

I'm walking a marathon in support of mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. Mental health is something that affects all of us and I believe should have a more significant spotlight in modern culture. I, like many others, have experienced my own mental health issues but thanks to the availability of resources in the modern day and the supportive nature of my surroundings I have been able to manage my issues thus far. I wish for this experience to be unanimous and for sufferers of mental health issues to know and understand that they are not alone and that there is appropriate support out there. This support just needs to be more comprehensive, cheap and readily available for those in need, and that is what I am raising money for.

So together with a great community of people - some with a connection to York, some with no connection - I'm going to walk 25 miles on the 28th May around York! The Great York Walk starts at the University, crossing Monk Stray, Bootham Stray, Clifton Ings, Hob Moor, Knavesmire, Fulford Ings and Walmgate Stray before heading back to the University campus.

Please donate anything you can to help my target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :) (P.S. If you want to find out more about the walk and the cause you can do so here)

about mentally fit york

My walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.

Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
