Sponsor me to walk a marathon to help fund more accessable mental health provisions :)

Hi! :) I am Nia, a second-year student at The University of York and I am hoping to raise money to better fund our mental health services. With the pressures of the pandemic, I feel that mental health has drastically declined yet government funding has not risen in response. Our mental health services in the UK are chronically underfunded and many are not able to obtain the help that they desperately need. I am hoping to make even a small difference with this charity half-marathon and would be so appreciative of any donations! Thanks :))

I NEED YOUR HELP!

I'm taking on The Great York Walk, a 12.5 mile half-marathon walking event that will help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. Mental ill-health doesn't discriminate and whether we're experts in mental health or not, we should all be able to feel safe and supported in talking to each other about our mental health.

So together with a great community of people - some with a connection to York, some with no connection - I'm going to walk 20km on the 28th May around York, starting from the University!

Please donate anything you can to help my target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :) (P.S. If you want to find out more about the walk and the cause you can do so here)

about mentally fit york

My walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.

Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates. Find out more about what Mentally Fit York has supported here.
