What's SCARLET??
Our film ‘Scarlet’ tells the story of Detective Rivers, a cop in the alternate world of Noir York, where the streets are ripe with corruption and crime. His latest case - a killer leaving her victims with an infamous red kiss. After becoming infatuated with her, Rivers has to play a game of Duty vs Devotion to stop ‘The Scarlet Killer’.
But we can't achieve this without your help, please can YOU donate to this page, so we can reach our crowdfunding goal and bring this ambitious project to life.
Who are we?
We are a group of third year film and television students at the University of York, brought together to make the most ambitious and visually interesting student film to date! This will be our final project with the University and can’t wait to create something representative of our time and effort over the last three years, along with bringing our collective passion for storytelling and film-making to you at home.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
Scarlet is an incredibly ambitious student film taking place all over Yorkshire, and can only be completed with your help. We are aiming to raise £2,500 to create this concept and do it justice, below is a rough breakdown of where your money will end up.
Locations (£650)
Scarlet takes place in all manner of locations; art studios, office spaces, crime scenes and windy cliff tops - and these all come with a price. We have set aside £650 to allow us to tell this story at the best locations possible
Production Design (£600)
Without access to a time machine, we need to somehow transform the world around us to look like 1920's York. This money will be spent on key aspects such as costumes, props and set dressing to bring this period piece to the streets we know and love.
Travel and Accommodation (£500)
Everyone needs to get to set somehow! This money will be used to cover the cast and crews travel expenses: and if needed, accommodation.
Catering (£400)
It's hard work making a film in the first place, and even harder work on an empty stomach. We've set aside £400 to ensure that no one has to starve for this production.
Contingencies (£350)
As we all know, when things can go wrong... they will. When they do, we will have this contingency budget to ensure that film, film can still go ahead. It's nice to know that you're covered.
Film Festivals
If we manage to wrap shooting under the budget, any remaining funds will be put towards festival entry alongside our own personal contributions.
