Welcome to the S.P.O.R.T lab!
What if you had to complete a golf course using an umbrella and a rugby ball? Or had to score a penalty while wearing flippers? These are just some of the experiments thought of by our wacky in-lab Doctor to find out what makes the best team work well together!
We're a group of Film and Television Production students at the University of York aiming to raise £2500 for our final year group project. We need your help and donations to create wacky sport-inspired rounds and a lively lab-themed set for the TV studio.
Two teams compete across two rounds, after which one is eliminated and the remaining team try to beat the Doctor's Experiment of the Week and prove they're the best team! Our dynamic host (the Doctor), alongside their robot lab-assistant, will guide and encourage our contestants as they take part in the wackiest sport challenges you can think of.

our story
Coming to the end of our 3 year study at the University of York, we want to create something fun and ambitious that we can be proud of and show off to family and friends. Starting our course during the pandemic, we had an unconventional start to learning and are eager to show that this didn't hinder our experience or take away from the course.
"The S.P.O.R.T Lab" will be produced using the university's multi-camera studio, and from inception to finish will be manufactured by students. This means a fantastic opportunity to get experience working on every aspect of a TV show, building skills we can bring into the industry once our course ends.
We're really excited to bring The S.P.O.R.T Lab to life, but it needs your help - so please consider donating and being an important part of the production process!
Where will your money go?
- £900 will go toward turning the TV studio into our Doctor's Sport Lab - imagine dissected footballs, tennis balls in jars, and colourful energy drinks flowing through lab pipes!
- £800 will go towards creating round elements - our own mini golf hole, quiz-answering basketball hoops, and the Experiment of the Week obstacle course!
- £200 will go towards paying our main contributors, the wacky Doctor host and the robot lab assistant
- £600 will remain for catering on-the-day for contributors and crew and also as a contingency
You can see we need a lot to make this show as amazing as possible, so anything you can donate will help us so much!
