Raising money for the University of York American Football team

The York Centurions

We need your help in raising money for the University of York American Football team, The York Centurions!

The 2019/20 season was the best in Centurion history, winning the Northern Division 2 league and gaining a spot in the playoffs. It means that we gained promotion and will be playing in the Northern Division 1 league next season.

However, with this success comes a greater number of fixtures next year meaning an increase in costs for the team. The team has already struggled financially this year due to an increase in players, which resulted in us needing new equipment, as well as having to travel long distances to multiple away games in Scotland.

Some of the average costs include:

- Coach to Scotland (£1,200)

- Ambulance for gamedays (£325)

- Fee for one referee (£45)

- Cost of one jersey (£55)

Gaining promotion means that we now have to play every team twice which dramatically increases the expenses the club now has to face.

With our current triumphs we could also have to fund another three games this season due to the fact that we were successful in making playoffs. While this should be a reason to celebrate, we desperately need your help to be able to fund a deep push and hopefully come back with some silverware!

Although we are overwhelmed with how well this season has gone, we are concerned that we simply will not be able to fund the future of our success and that is why we need your help!

Your donations will help us have the necessary funds to compete at the higher level. It will go towards the cost of game days and new equipment.

You don't need to give money to help us succeed! Please share this project with anyone you think would support us – on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, by email, telephone, in a chat over the fence or on your blog.

In fact, share it with everyone you know as any small donation can make a massive difference, and the more people who know about it, the more likely we are to repeat our success in the future.

And we know we said you don't need to give money to help us, but we'd love it if you did! Please sponsor us and help us in being able to have another successful season next year!
