Ice-cream has never been so dangerous.

When Audrey, Scarborough's most miserable traffic warden, is kidnapped by a ruthless crime group covering as an ice cream business, she has to try and escape the mysterious masterplan they have in store for her.

Welcome to our project

Monkey’s Blood is a short film that follows Audrey as she gets thrown into the world of a Yorkshire crime syndicate; a world that she never knew existed - and we can’t wait to make it happen!

With a team, a story and lots of spreadsheets, we now just need our budget - so we’re fundraising £2,300 to make our film a reality!

WHY THIS FILM?

The reason why we feel Monkey’s Blood is a unique, original story has to do with our characters. In reality, Traffic Wardens tend to be forces of antagonism for most of us. We’re hoping to challenge our audience by putting Audrey through the wringer and seeing if viewers still view her as a frustrating, no-good cause of bother... or if they begin to empathise with her and see her as a fellow human. We also use our antagonist, Sweet Tooth, to combat gender stereotypes in film; this female mob-boss, feared by fellow criminals and crooks, plays against the typical masculine archetype and provides an interesting mirror-image of Audrey.

Meet the team!

We are all so passionate about being on this film and we really hope that you can support us in making this project a reality.

Between us we have worked on countless short films, TV shows, and even have won a number of awards, but we are all determined to make this film the best one yet!

Where will your money go?

It’s no lie that films are expensive, but with your help we can make this project a reality. All the donations we receive will towards our costs, from things such as hiring an ice cream van and finding a mafia hideout, to providing catering for our cast and crew and covering travel expenses. Every penny we receive will go towards creating the world of Audrey and Sweet Tooth!

This is how your donation to our £2,300 goal will be spent:

Contingency: £300

With money set aside we can plan for every eventuality and make sure that nothing catches us off guard.

Transport: £400

As we will be filming on location this money will go towards hiring vans to transport our equipment, crew and cast.

Catering: £250

This will allow us to buy enough food to feed both the cast and crew over the entire filming period.

Locations: £500

As we are filming in quite unique locations, this will cover all our hire and permission costs for the space we need.

Production Design: £550

This will go towards everything from ice cream vans to customised gang jackets to be worn by the characters.

Accomodation: £300

As some of our locations are outside York, this will allow us to sleep cast and crew on set, minimising travel time.

Rewards

And, as if the project itself wasn’t enough of a reason to donate, then we have some great rewards up for grabs too as a thank you from us! From a personalised thank you card, a special credit, or even your name hidden in the film, there are tons of cool things you could get your hands on.

We know that you might not have money to be able to donate to our project, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still help us!

Just by sharing our project and spreading the word you can help us raise the money we need to make this film a reality. From a post on facebook and an email to your grandma to a message to your old boss on LinkedIn, please share our film with anyone who you think would be interested in getting involved! (You could even use our film as an excuse to talk to that person you like, so go on and do it!)

But if you can afford to donate then please do, because without your help we cant make this film into a reality!
